Whoosh was created by a bored teenager studying for her IGCSE. Being too lazy to read all the PDFs and notes, she decided to create a website instead, after stumbling upon a reel about speed reading. And after months of hard work and struggle (she gave up on the website for a good month because the website's UI wasn't up to standard), Whoosh was finally brought to life. Whoosh uses a method called Rapid Serial Visual Presentation (RSVP), where words are shown at one at a time in the same spot, letting you read up to 260% faster. Since your eyes don’t have to move across the page (we get it, too much effort), there's no more forgetting which line you were on while reading. This method is proven by multiple studies and has personally been tested for everyday use and study. But you're not limited to use it for studying. You've got free will—do whatever you please. Exercise your right to the fullest!!
She is a 16-year-old student passionate about public speaking, programming, and horseback riding. Her dream? To become the greatest showjumper in the world. Whoosh was her first dive into web development, which sparked an interest in creating websites. The idea of creating something out of nothing always attracted her. She also enjoys reading in her leisure time, especially psychology, history, and classic books. I know she's a bit of a nerd but I promise she is fun to be around—or so she is told... She LOVES fashion. If she is not doing any of the above, you will catch her in a mall. She has a bit of a problem. As if all that wasn't enough, she also is a TEDx speaker (I know, a bit of an overachiever). She shares a love for sports: swimming in the summer, skiing in the winter, and horseback riding year-round. She might seem like she has it all figured out, but if you ask her what she wants to be in the future, expect a long, awkward silence.
Whoosh is a speed-reading tool that uses Rapid Serial Visual Presentation (RSVP) to display one word at a time so you can read faster with less eye movement.
With Whoosh, your eyes don’t need to move across lines of text. Words are presented at the same spot, reducing eye strain and boosting comprehension speed.
Studying, articles, lectures, scripts—anything text-based. Many users also paste their own notes or OCR pages from textbooks.
RSVP has been explored in cognitive research and is used in various speed-reading apps. Individual results vary, but many people report faster reading with practice.
With practice, many readers comfortably reach 2–3× their normal pace. You control the words-per-minute and can pause or resume anytime.
